iCal4OL Version 2.16.6 is now available. See Announcements / Ankündigungen
Version 2.11.5 & 2.11.6
Some bug fixes for EPL, SOGo concerning ORGANIZER/ATTENDEE Handling and some other improvements. Please read Changelog (English/German)
If this server flag did not change since last CalDAV Sync, nothing was changed on the server. iCal4OL will switch therefore to another routine, just checking if something new was added or deleted in Outlook (OL). This is normally faster, because for Upload only restricted (modified since) OL items have to be read.
There is an issue with deleted items in "Deleted Items Folder". Those have to be read and read again, because there is no OL flag, to determine WHEN an item was deleted!
=> I optimized it compared to 2.11.3. They will not slow down the "getctag" routine anymore (just once it will check if still present on server).
=> You can deactivate <getctag> routine, by adding "no_ctag" in field "UserID/Kennung:"
Report Sync-Collection Support (SOGo and DAViCal)
This is the modern way, to optimize a CalDAV Sync. For the moment, only SOGo and DAViCal are supporting it!
=> Add "singleget sync" in field "UserID/Kennung:"
The Auto-Configuration Asssistant will do it now automatically!
Retrieve Darwin CalendarServer Free/Busy Feeds
There are two issues, why it's not so easy, to see the Free/Busy (FB) Info in Outlook (OL):
1) Outlook can not retrieve it, if some kind of Authorization is needed.
You could change caldavd.plist to allow "AnonymousAccess" (see 12. in http://ical.gutentag.ch/forum/viewtopic.php?id=287).
But you would still need to add all users as OL Contacts and fill the field "FreeBusy URL Address" in those contacts.
2) The URL of the FB Feed does not contain usernames (part before @server in email addresses)!
I decided to implement a download feature for FB, saving these Feeds "compatible" for the Global Free/Busy Search Path Option in Outlook!
- Perhaps there is a different way, by adding OpenDirectory as LDAP AddressBoook in OL. But I don't know, if this will provide the FB for Outlook..
- Outlook (only) supports %NAME% (and %SERVER%) placeholders, as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/291621/en-us
- Limitation: The "Global Free/Busy Search Path" Option in Outlook does not work in Exchange Environments!
- OL needs email addresses (and not only usernames) to retrieve FB on the scheduling tab, if there is no contact.
So even Resources and Locations MUST have an emailaddress in Darwin, otherwise you will not see the FB info in OL.
- Just one iCal4OL client can do the job for all Outlook Users!
For Configuration, see tab OPTIONS - RDO/Misc. the button [ Free/Busy Feeds from Darwin CalendarServer ]
a) With the Authorization and URL from tab "1. How", iCal4OL will try to retrieve all users by groups.
Check ACL of this user for retrieving Group Info and User Info, if it's not working.
You can then add, edit or delete certain users - or just activate or deactivate them.
b) Save FB on an UNC Path - probably the best way, but there are other ways, too:
WebDAV: https://xxxxxxx:firstname.lastname@example.org/Meine Dokumente
Note: xxxxxxxx can NOT contain a "@", or you replace it with %40 (does not work with every server).
For gmx.net use your CustomerNo instead of your email address!
Note: username can NOT contain a "@", or you replace it with %40 (does not work with every server)
c) This shows how the Search Path must be entered in OL (more or less correctly for WebDAV/FTP, where you will probably retrieve it by HTTP => without Authorization!).
